Rapid urbanization displaces green spaces with impermeable surfaces, harming the urban water cycle. Also, urban areas are challenged by climate change with more frequent and intense precipitation events that oppose with drought periods. Combination of these two factors, with the development of urban areas, makes it impossible for the traditional urban drainage systems to manage precipitation ...
In this paper, the implementation of green roofs as source control solutions for mitigating the impacts of urbanization is analysed at the urban catchment scale. The hydrologic-hydraulic response of a 2 km 2 urban basin is investigated under various implementation scenarios and rainfall characteristics.

Furthermore, visual representations like the one above help us fully grasp the concept of Hydrological Impact Of Urban Green Roofs.
Modeling the hydrological benefi ts of green roof systems: applications and future needs This review of green roof models compares three widely used open-source models and considers aspects from model parameterization through performance to future improvement needs for accurate prediction of hydrological performance.

This study analyzes two different urban green roofs in Portland, Oregon for thermal properties, hydrological properties, and the influence of shading and solar radiation on the roof surface.
Green roofs are used in urban areas to mitigate the adverse effects of stormwater. Through numerical modeling, this study evaluates the impacts of design parameters on green roof hydrological performance under different rainfall characteristics.
